Xavier Darnai: There wasn't much in the way of free time for him these days, but he still had work to do. Sitting at the corner table in the common eating area, he was still looking over dossiers and equipment lists, trying to decide where the weakest points in the network were. A glass of Scotch was sitting on the table next to the bottle of the Glenfiddich 30 year and an ash tray that had been filled along with a crushed pack of cigarettes that he had apparently gone through. A fresh pack-- although several were missing --was sitting on the table next to his lighter. Natasha had been kind enough to send out one of the watresses to pick up a fresh pack. He would be tipping well tonight, no doubt.
Tainted Agony: -=He'd mentioned the diner, but she'd never actually been there. But under the circumstances, she figured it was about time to show. She had a few questions, actually she was a little pissed. But that wasn't his fault, it was something other that might be brought up, but it wasn't set in stone. As it was, she walked in, taking a look around, seeing him walked over and took a seat across from him.=- We have to talk.
Xavier Darnai: Catching the sound of the door opening, he looked up from his paperwork and raised a brow, reaching over with his bandaged left to take up the glass that he'd been drinking from. Lifting it off of the table, he took a slow sip of the finely aged liquor before lowering it to his side in his seat and letting it hang there as he idly spun his wrist slowly. "Do we." It looked to have been a long day for him. Sleeves were up at his elbows, his tie was loose and the top button of his collar had been undone.
Tainted Agony: -=She nodded.=- We do. -=She made her way over to wherever it was he was sitting. If it was in a booth, she sat across from him. If it was at the bar, she sat next to him.=- I have a little bit of an issue and where I've said it wasn't, not everyone else is inclined to believe the same.
Xavier Darnai: Sitting back in the chair at his table, he looked across it at her, setting the glass on the table. Following along that sentence wasn't exactly an easy task, and doubly so seeing as she so rarely was inclined to ask for help with anything in the first place. "Just to make sure we're crystal on this, you've got a problem you've told people wasn't a problem, and now they're inclined to believe you've called wolf, or the other way about and you've actually spotted the wolf and no one believes it."
Tainted Agony: -=She shook her head.=- No I have a problem, they believe I have a problem. They don't believe that the person I said wasn't the cause of the problem. The don't believe he isn't involved. -=Yes it was complicated.=-
Xavier Darnai: "Right then, so what's this problem you're having, and who's it being wrapped around for the blame." Now at least he was on the proper page, though considering the issue that seemed to be at hand he started to stack up the papers in the proper order and setting them off to the side.
Tainted Agony: -=She took a deep breath. She didn't look that great. She looked feverish.=- I was shot. And it seems to be with one of those new supernatural bullets you were talking about since I didn't heal as I would with a normal bullet. -=She reached over to take his glass, taking a drink before setting it back in front of him.=- Everyone seems to think you're the one that took the shot.
Xavier Darnai: "I had been asked if I was the shooter. Not certain if the fact that they thought I'd done it's a testiment to how well I've managed to keep my reputation under wraps, or an insult regarding how poor a shot they think I must be." Picking up the pack of cigarettes, he took one from the pack and held it between his lips before snapping open the flip top lighter and dragging his bandaged thumb across the wheel. Watching the flame for a moment, he took in a deep hit before shaking out the lighter again and dropping it to the table. "To be honest I'm not entirely certain that it'd been a Black Bullet, but if it had there're plenty've people out there still that could've gotten their hands on the ones that'd been on the market on accident." True to fashion, he had yet to say one way or another whether or not he had been the one to shoot her.
Tainted Agony: -=It seemed something about his answer pissed her off. She stood, moving to stand right in front of him. She smiled and slammed her fist into his jaw.=- I told everyone there was no way you were the one who shot me. I know it's one of those Black Bullets for the simple reason the damn thing wouldn't stop bleeding until it was physically removed. As a demon I don't typically have to do that. My body pushes bullets out naturally.
Xavier Darnai: Ghost wasn't the only one with a good bit of combat acumen, and as her fist came around for his jaw, he let go of his glass and swiftly threw his left arm behind him to press against the wall as he kicked back in his chair. His right hand went up at least to keep her momentum from being thrown horribly, giving her something plenty strong enough to impact against. "Oi!" Pushing back against her fist, fingers thrust off the wall and set him on all six legs again as he narrowed his eyes at her, keeping the cigarette pinned in the corner of his mouth and off of her arm. "For one, if it'd been one've the Black Bullets, you'd've stopped feeling the effects in right short bloody order after it'd been taken out." The left hand came to the side, waving off Natasha who'd stepped away from the hostess station with a very disapproving look. "If one person's got'em figured, stands to reason someone else's thinking've the same bloody idea." Pushing her hand back with a lot more strength than a man in his mid forties should have. "Now, if you want to take the twenty questions to the physical level, why don't we move it out into the lot so the lovely blonde with the flechette shotgun doesn't decide to blow both've our heads off. I happen to like it here."
Tainted Agony: -=She only held back a snarl when held up his hand, then turning back on him since she hadn't hit him...She hissed.=- The effects didn't stop right away because I couldn't find anyone to take the bullet out for a week after I'd been shot... -=She took a deep breath and turned to the woman tending bar, giving her a sweet smile and wave before walking outside to wait for him on the porch.=-
[Natasha Petranovic]: "Vy znayete pravila! Net boi, dazhe dlya tebya!"
Xavier Darnai: "Yesli by ya znal, chto udar shel neuzheli vy dumayete, ya by ne pozvolil yey ostat'sya za stolom." His response was fairly straight forward as he passed the hostess station, making his way out through the doors and keeping his eyes on Ghost. The street was quiet enough at this hour, which he imagined was to their benefit. "Let's avoid any collateral damage, neh? Rather not head off with a thirty thousand dollar tab tonight." Pulling the cigarette from his lips for a moment, he kept his reasonable distance for the time being, flicking the burn-off away before returning it to his lips. "Now, do you want to throw another punch, or ask a proper question."

TaintedAgony: I reserve the right to throw another punch at any time. All I want from you is to know what you know, or have heard about it. I'm not the first person to take one of these bullets near the Lounge. -=She knew he knew more than he was sharing. He always did.=- -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begin, Ghost." Eyes turned to her sharply as he exhaled the hit off his cigarette, shoving his left hand into his pocket. "Lots've people'd like to know what I know, but I don't think that's particularly appropriate. There's a reason I know what I know. I work at it. You want answers, ask your questions, but don't expect me to tell you everything carte blanche."
TaintedAgony: When it comes to my and my Lounge, I get to know what the hell is going on. So, what do you know about it? -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Only thing I can tell you about your being shot is that people seem to believe I'm responsible. Beyond that I can't tell you a damn thing. If you want to know more you're going to have to ask a bloody fucking question. But there's nothing I can just volunteer to you that's going to do you any damn good. I need to know what you need to know, and 'everything' doesn't bloody qualify." He shook his head, taking another hit before turning towards her fully. "So, let's try this again."
TaintedAgony: -=She sighed again, biting back another hiss.=- What do you know about people being targeted around the Lounge? -d-
Xavier Darnai: Taking another hit off his cigarette, he shook his head again. "Nothing outside've the typical. If someone's going about hitting your problematic locals with Black Bullets, then maybe you should look into the hunters you know in the area. Take it up with Derrick, he's a twat waiting to happen."
TaintedAgony: -=She shook her head.=- Derrick doesn't care about the Lounge, or anything near the Lounge. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "He's also got a mighty need for those bullets, knows've their existence, and has a particular dislike of the unnatural. Really, Ghost. What bloody good would it do me to shoot you. Leaving you alive after'd just be a waste've the bullet, and I'm not particularly inclined to go about randomly shooting people who tend to pour decent Scotch at an exceptional discount. Think about it. I've got some've'em, but I also tried to warn people they were on the streets." He pointed out and around at emphasis of the statement. "The person who seems to know the most details about all've this'd be Collins, but he's never about, is he. This isn't the first time I've been framed for shooting someone I know personally, but it is the stupidest attempt."
TaintedAgony: I haven't accused you of shooting me. I've defended you against those who said it was probably you. As for Derrick, he won't try and shoot me again as long as I'm with Simon. I'm just asking what you know about the shootings around the Lounge, what you've heard. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Then what the devil did you try and hit me for." Narrowing his eyes again, he started to close a bit more distance between them. Bringing his cigarette up for another hit, he exhaled as he spoke. "You want me to help you look into it then fine, but throwing a fist at me because someone's been using these to take shots at people about is the metaphysical equivalence of shooting the bloody messenger. There's nothing I can tell you about any particular attacks. I've had so much on my plate dealing with the mess Russia's decided to throw onto the world stage that I haven't had time to listen to the local crime rate. If you can tell me more about what you know than 'there've been attacks'..." He lift his hands, making a quick universal quote symbol as he said it. "...I can put someone on it."
TaintedAgony: I took a swing at you because honestly you were there and I'd hit my limit. I needed to hit someone and you were handy. -=She shrugged.=- Sorry about that. I honestly don't know much about them. Whoever's doing the shooting isn't man enough to show himself. Sticks to a rifle, usually from a rooftop. I've found the shell after the shot. -d-
Xavier Darnai: Pausing for a moment as her explanation sank in, he took a final hit off his cigarette before crushing it under his feet. "That'd say a lot. The rounds that I saw hit the market were mostly short range munitions. If they've got rifle rounds then that means there's either someone else pressing them which's a problem of its own, or they're able to modify the rounds that're out there for distance firing. Aren't going to be a lot've people capable of either." Brows bounced once more as he looked up to her again. "Or they're taking their shot from closer'n you think and just clever about placing their brass. Don't suppose you still happen to have the casing."
TaintedAgony: -=She nodded.=- I do actually. Obviously not on me at the moment, but at the Lounge. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Right. I'll be out've the country as've Friday morning. If you want to bring it by I'll be here tomorrow night. Otherwise it'll have to wait until I get back." Rubbing at the bridge of his nose, he closed his eyes tight for a moment. When he dropped his hand away, he pointed back inside. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go see about clearing things up with Natasha and leaving a sizable tip."
TaintedAgony: If nothing comes up I'll bring it by. You know how things are in my neighborhood. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Apparently they've been murder." Turning back, he headed inside and immediately stopped in front of Natasha's podium, doing his best to quickly explain how it wasn't going to be a problem and that no it was not a complication of his business directly. Once things were cleared-- albeit not smoothed --with her, he returned to his table and started to look his papers over once more.
TaintedAgony: -=She felt a little bad she'd gotten him in trouble with the woman, but not that bad considering what she was dealing with at the moment. She headed back to the Lounge.=- -d-

Strange Hex: It'd been a strange day, to say the least. Not that it started out that way. It started out like any other day for Alexandra, with the checking of various means of communication, which generally took up quite a bit of time because of proper responses and ensuring networks were secure and so on and so forth. Out and about, tending to this and that, was when things started to get odd. She'd sworn all day long someone was following. How they accomplished it without a vehicle she couldn't figure out. No vehicle she had been able to discern, at least. As the day progressed, and that sense of being watched only grew stronger, there were threats of bullets if things didn't become more obvious. With some witty thinking and some Control, Alexandra finally managed to get a hand on her little tail. That was about an hour ago. The girl was stubborn enough to warrant some hostile behavior, but not quite stubborn enough for a bullet to the head. The F450 was parked outside the Belyi. Upon entrance, practically dragging the girl by the arm, a most subtle look was given by Natasha, and the response was "Don't ask." Which, of course, she wouldn't. Now the pair were seated at a window-side table. Alexandra with a glass of Goose on the table, dressed in her usual black, minus the jacket. Arms crossed over her chest, she watched the young woman seated across from her with a look of distaste. Should have just put a bullet in her head.
Fractured Facets: Weird was one way to put it. Trinity hadn't intended to get caught following the woman as she went on her round abouts here and there, but there was something going on and Trinity wanted to know what. That's not to say that she was answering any questions, though. She wasn't even entirely sure how she ended up in the woman's truck to begin with. But the woman had ensured that any questionable movements would be stupid on her part with the flash of a serious looking gun beneath the leather coat she'd been wearing earlier. Now it was just hanging there, in the holster beneath her arm. Iridescent-opal eyes looked at the weapon learily. Silently. On the table between them was the woman's glass and half a dozen empty plates that, not too long ago, had food on them. Faded blue jeans and a blue-to-brown fade hoodie the rather simple attire, her book bag on the chair next to her. Trinity had already scoped the exits, ready to book if she had to. Even if she had to break a window to do so. She only needed a distraction. One that would last long enough for her to paint a portal, then she'd be gone. "I don't know why you keep staring at me. It's not like I'm going to disappear." Disgruntled, she probably sounded more the angsty teen than she'd really intended to.
Xavier Darnai: No, there hadn't been a Bishop, it was nowhere to be found. Tonight Xavier had a few personal tasks to take care of, especially after dealing with the blow back of the gallery event. A rather unprecedented fumble had put him into a frame of mind that could best be described as depressed, and he needed to fix it. It wasn't a distraction yet, but he knew that if it kept up it would be, and that was something he could not afford. Pulling into the alley lot from the side street, he climbed out of the vehicle and brushed at his jawline as he looked to the sky in a moment of paused thought. Closing his eyes again, he forced out a breath before rounding the corner and slipping into the diner. Natasha gave him a rather dirty look, which he weathered before rounding the foyer to head for the common eating area where he spotted Alexandra and... a guest. Raising a brow, he undid his suit jacket and pulled it off to hang it over the back of a chair. The shoulder holster he wore had no safety latch over his firearm, and the spare magazines were present, though two of the four were missing. Rolling up his sleeves to his elbows, he settled into the seat silently, looking from the guest to Hex for a moment with a sort of narrowed 'explain' look.
Strange Hex: "You may very well disappear. You seem to be quite good at it." Picking up her glass, a mouthful of the clear liquid was taken, the glass set back down and once more arms folded comfortably over her chest. Not once did she remove her gaze from the girl, but that should never lead anyone to believe that she wasn't attentive to her surroundings. Such as when the door opened. Peripherals caught a familiar form reflected in the glass of the window. A minor shift to switch the cross of her legs, weight from one side to the other to keep from stiffness kicking in. She didn't have to see Xavier's look to know it was there. He wasn't keen on surprises unless they came in a box. She didn't answer the look right away. Mouth twisted thoughtfully, she looked at the girl sitting across from her with an expression of warning, then turned her head just enough to give Xavier more than just peripheral attention. "Ever feel like you're being followed?" Xavier should know that feeling well. A slight cant of her head in the girl's direction. "She followed me the better part of the day. Not entirely sure yet how she accomplished it." Since the girl wasn't keen on giving her secrets away.
Fractured Facets: Iridescent opal eyes rolled at the remark. However, the woman was spot on. With enough time, she would disappear. A nod of thanks given to the waitress as a slice of apple pie was delivered. Her fork picked up, Trinity started at the crust end of the triangle, stabbing a bite off and stuffing it into her mouth. On high alert, she was aware when the man joined them at the table and gave a derisive snort to the woman's comment. Nothing more was said for the moment, however. Though she eyed the male from under the hood, she slipped the tines of her fork under the crust layer of the pie to separate it from the sweet-gooey apple mush in the layer below and flipped it over on the plate. That was the next to be devoured. Soft on one side, crisp on the other. "Damn good apple pie. Might have'ta come back."
Xavier Darnai: Not fond of surprises in boxes either as a general rule, hearing that his primary infiltrator had a tail she was unaware of wasn't exactly pleasant information. Still, Xavier was constantly looking over his shoulder, constantly expecting someone to be there, so he couldn't fault her for the fact that it happened. Another breath was let out as he started to roll up his sleeves, lifting his left hand after to flag a waitress. "Bring a bottle, if you'd be so kind love. Something single malt, nothing specific. I don't intend to be kind to it." Turning his attention back to Hex for a brief moment, he looked to the new girl enjoying the apple pie. "I hear Americans like to put cheddar on it, though I'd always heard that'd been for facists." Leaning back in his chair, he pulled his foot up over his knee, resting his right arm in his lap for the moment as his left was hooked over the corner of the chair. "Right. How about introductions then."
Strange Hex: If it hadn't been for the fact that the girl could, seemingly, up and disappear, Alexandra wouldn't have had such a time catching her. Much like Xavier, she was always checking over her shoulder. It was hard to pin point what was that difficult to catch. It'd taken her three attempts to finally catch the girl. The girl. She just shook her head and picked up her glass again. "Should have shot her." Muttered softly against the rim of the glass before draining away more of the liquid. When introductions were mentioned, she decided to see if the girl would give Xavier the same hard time she'd had trying to pry a name out of her. Like pulling teeth.
Fractured Facets: She wasn't really paying that much attention to either of the others at the table currently. Or so it would seem. Far to engulfed by the pie. It was probably better company. Once the top crust was gone, she started cleaning away the apple cinnamon goo around the apple slices with one of the fork tines. But then something mentioned of introductions and she looked at the man. Then looked at the woman, expecting her to give up the name she'd pried from Trinity. When it didn't seem like the woman was going to give up, she looked back to Xavier and shrugged. "Name's not important, I should thing. Besides, you haven't exactly been the prime example of proper introductions." The fork stabbed into one of the apple slices and brought it up to her mouth, openly staring at the man now.
Xavier Darnai: When the woman came by with his bottle and set it down with a tumbler, he took it in his left and gave it a quick once over before pulling the cap and tilting to pour himself a triple of the single malt. Setting it down on the table again with a click, he looked to the girl once more and shook his head. "Names're like titles. They're not important until you need to use one, and we're at the point where you do. Besides, something tells me you at least know her name, so there's already one introduction made." Picking up the glass, he took a sniff of it before tilting it back for a rather long pull of the Scotch. Apparently he hadn't been joking about not being kind to the Scotch. Lowering the glass to the table again, he looked back to the girl and did something he wasn't particularly fond of. "I'm Xavier Darnai."
Strange Hex: Hearing the girls retort, eyes narrowed at her with that look of warning once again. She wasn't going to listen to the girl play the same games twice. Those steel toed boots she was wearing would come in handy for something, damnit. Even if it was just kicking bruises into Trinity's knee caps. That warning was all she was going to get. Play nice, little girl.
Fractured Facets: The look of warning was noted, but how much she really cared was questionable. These people were either something she could use against Genocide, or perhaps people she could use to help get rid of them. She'd seen the black SUVs take an interest in Hex. They'd followed her twice most recently leaving the book store. She wasn't so sure it was Hex their interest was in, though. The man with the rusty red eyes and bandaged hand... Eh. Who knows when it came to Genocide. They'd be interested in a sponge if they thought it possessed something interesting. Damn it. He gave his name. She was hoping he wouldn't. "Trinity. I'll tell you the same as I told her; that's all the name you need to know." She sounded pretty final about that.
Xavier Darnai: "Brilliant." There was a measure of annoyance in his voice, but honestly depending on how the rest of the conversation went that would be more than enough. Trinity wasn't the sort of name a parent gave a child unless they were a very special brand of Judeo-Christian faith, and something about this girl did not scream good Christian upbringing. "Alright Trinity, so I'll say that I've had a rather unpleasant few weeks and I'm not much in the mood for pulling teeth to get at something that someone's going to give me eventually regardless, so let's just get to the brass tacks of it, neh? What is it that you'd like."
Fractured Facets: Brilliant deduction there, Holmes. That piece of pie wasn't nearly big enough. When the last bite of the bottom crust was gone, she sighed softly and pushed the plate away with the rest of the plates. "What should I care what the past few weeks have been like for you?" She looked at the man from beneath the hood of her jacket. "You look like the asshole type. I'm not overly keen on dealing with assholes, so if I can get this over with sooner than later, then all the better. It was initally her I was interested in." A motion towards Hex. "But, now I'm not so sure it's her in general. Could be you, I guess. I wanted to know why they're interested in you." Because calling Genocide "They" was saying so much.
Xavier Darnai: Picking up the glass again, he raised his brows and closed his eyes, taking another long sip of the Scotch as if the act would help take the edge off of things. He was, as always, disappointed by it's failure to do so. Lowering the glass again, he gave a light roll of his shoulders and doubled down, turning his attention to the girl again. "Appearances're just about as important as you think names are, until you need to use one. Lovely, you've called me out as an asshole. You've made yourself out to quite the bitter little cunt, so I suppose that makes us even, doesn't it. If you're interested in Hex for any reason, then you get to deal with me also. She can take care've herself plenty fine, but she handles my business. And if people're looking into her business, they're looking into mine as well. So, if there's a they, how about we cut to the bloody fucking chase."
Fractured Facets: Listening to the man, she couldn't help another of those derisive snorts, though this was of genuine amusement. "Quite the mouth you've got for such an old fucker, huh?" She pulled the sleeves down over her hands, then folded her arms in an almost defiant manner. What was in it for her if she told them anything who "They" were? Potentially nothing more than the delivering end of the barrel of a gun. Of course, that was nothing new. At the other end of the spectrum, she might actually get something useful for a change, rather than just some half assed means to an end. The quick huff she gave blew out her cheeks for an instant. "I'm not really interested in either of you except to find out why They are interested in you. They being Genocide. Or perhaps you haven't noticed the black SUVs following you around. You're looking kind of feable." She must have had a death wish. This wasn't half as bad as the meeting she'd had with Mr. Bubbles, though.
Strange Hex: Alexandra was about two seconds from bruising some knee caps something serious, and the shift in her position might have hinted to something violent on the horizon if the girl didn't speak up and watch her mouth. Fortunately, despite the girl's mouth, she seemed to wise up in the nick of time.
Xavier Darnai: "Noticing and choosing to do anything about're two very different things, Trinity. We've seen the Ess Yew Vee's, even been investigating them to our own pace, but the fact've it is in our business if you're not being watched you're doing it wrong." Picking up his glass again, he entirely disregarded the comment about his colorful language and age. She did get a pointed look when she called him feeble, but he let that pass as well. Taking another tilt of the glass, he drained off the rest of the Scotch, setting it down empty. Fast and hard, seemed to be his mood towards the liquor tonight. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend doesn't always apply in this industry, however. Genocide sounds all very cloak'n dagger and pretentious, but it does not ring any bells."
Fractured Facets: Leaning forward, elbows rest on the edge of the table, she peered at the man. "You'd be smart to not attract anymore of their attention. They like to blow things up. Or show up with a lot of men with a lot of weapons." The fact that Genocide hadn't taken that step yet meant that either they were still doing their research, or they were waiting for a bigger fish to come along. She was, however, mildly surprised that he'd not heard of the company, at least for what they announced to the public that they did. Genocide was pretty world-wide. Of course, if you had no reason for their services, then there was little need in knowing who they were. One hand popped out of the sleeve, she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
Strange Hex: When the name was disclosed, Alexandra had her phone in hand and tapping on the screen just to see what public information she could bring up. It didn't take long. A general Google search brought up a list, but only one that seemed big enough to have SUVs following folks around. The phone was offered to Xavier to look at. Genocide, one of the top leading institutions of medicine, research and medical technology. Founded by Rufus Cohen in the early 40s, taken over by his niece, Sasha Cohen in the late 90s. Leading research in cures for cancer, HIV/AIDs and other such diseases.
Xavier Darnai: Taking the phone in his right hand he looked over the information that was offered to him as he picked up the bottle and tilted it to pour another triple without paying attention to the glass. "...oh bloody hell." Setting the bottle down again, he offered the phone back to Hex, raising his brows as he picked up the now refilled glass. "Right then. So, for whatever reason they've an interest in you, or I imagine you wouldn't be so busy trying to determine what it is they've been digging at us for. Good, we're both in the same bloody bucket."
Fractured Facets: It didn't take a genius to know what was on the phone, at least in general terms. She shook her head. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you not to believe everything you read online." She flopped back against the seat, folding her arms over her chest again. "Their interest in me isn't really of any concern at the moment, since they seem more interested in you. Anything that takes their attention like you have...well..." She half-shrugged. "It's worth looking into for future reference."
Strange Hex: Taking the phone back, she cleared the screen while listening to the conversation. A text opened, she shot Francia a message to her look more thoroughly into Genocide. Whatever information could be gathered about the company would be beneficial, but Alexandra really had no more intention of looking into it more than that until they returned from their next job. Once it was confirmed that the message was sent, the phone was returned to her pocket.
Xavier Darnai: "So what do you propose, Trinity, or do you even intend to do that." Another sip of the Scotch, he set the glass down and reached into his jacket to pull out his cigarettes and lighter, setting them down as well. This was starting to become a very unsustainable situation. The attention that he was garnering as of late was a bit too bright of a spotlight for what he had in mind for the coming months, and from the sound of things the people pointing the lamps were the sort that were better off having their power cords yanked and wrapped around their throats before they were pushed over the catwalk. Taking up the fliptop lighter in his bandaged left, he snapped it open and procured a cigarette, striking the wheel of the lighter to snap it to life while he stared at the little dance as he took the first hit with almost a growl. Exhaling the smoke, he snapped the lighter shut and dropped it to the table again.
Fractured Facets: Clearly the man had not been listening to her. Head tilted, she just looked at him. "Really? Must be selective hearing, so I'll talk to you." She looked at Hex. "Stop doing whatever you're doing to hold their attention." She reached over to the chair next to her to grab up the messenger bag and pull the strap over her shoulder. "And don't come to the book store anymore. Just...be normal." On that note, with one more look to the two of them, she got up with every intention of leaving. She'd already been there too long. "Thanks for the food." Hex must have been paying. She was the one who brought Trinity here.
Strange Hex: A flat expression was given to the girl with narrowing of her eyes. she didn't say anything just yet. Not until the girl started to get up. She didn't make it more than a few inches off the seat of her chair before one of those steel toed boots was kicked out to jerk a leg out from under her, forcing her back in her seat. "Who said you could leave?" Tilt of her own head, she stared the girl down, daring her to try to get up again. Alexandra wouldn't do anything rash inside the diner, more than drag the girl to the parking lot by her hair, but the door wasn't all that far.
Xavier Darnai: "I did. Let her go, she's going to be an insolent twat, then she can be her own bait." He'd had enough of people assuming he wasn't paying attention. Looking to the girl with his reddish eyes narrowed, he exhaled the hit and reached for the ash tray. "I've been at this game've yours since before whoever had the misfortune to birth you'd likely been in the same bed. I asked you a bloody question and instead've giving me an answer you chose instead to tell me I'm not listening to you. Fine. I'm not bloody listening to you. So far you've done nothing but told us shite we'd already known, and I'm not in the mood to play babysitter. Congratulations, you've been stalking someone that's come to a store you're at on a regular basis. I don't give a shite. You can either step into bloody line, or you can go'n deal with the sharks that're swimming. I've got news for you, I've dealt with people like this before and it did not end well for them." She could take that how she wanted, he was fed up with it, and did not much care for the consequences when his temper managed to get the best of him.
Fractured Facets: A smug smile was given to Hex as Xavier stated that she could leave. Up from her seat, she shouldered the messenger bag and looked at him as he gave his little spiel. That smug look was still there, she eyed them both and shook her head. "Yeah, keep thinking that. It'll really help you on the Farm." She started walking away, but stopped and looked at them after only a couple steps. "Watch out for the darts with the green tags on them. They're doozies." It was coming. Sasha never took interest in anything just to let them go. Trinity was just going to have to be a lot more careful watching these two to see how and where she could play her cards. Whatever commentary might have followed was rightly ignored as she headed out of the diner.
Strange Hex: The leg that had been extended to kick out of the girl's leg was brought back to cross over the other. Nothing else of her posture had changed. Still, she sat there with her arms folded and watched the angsty teen leave before looking over to Xavier. "I should have shot the little bitch." She shook her head and sighed. "But, I did manage to put a tracking device on her. Figured it might come in handy in the future in case we need'er." Reaching for his bottle of scotch, she filled up her glass because she didn't feel like calling over one of the waitresses for a refill. His bottle was set back down in exchange for the glass, which was promptly picked up and a drink taken from it. Tssss....burn. "I like your other bottles better."
Xavier Darnai: "I'm inclined to agree. This's been a shite week though and I needed to take it out on something." Carefully adjusting the cigarette in his right hand, he reached up to rub at the bridge of his nose. Bringing his hand down again, he took another hit off the cigarette and exhaled it off to the side before snuffing out the rest of the barely smoked thing. "This's starting to be a problem. We're going to either need to clear a few plates so I can take some time, or I'm going to need a few more people on staff that I can rely on for larger tasks."
Strange Hex: A little nod followed. She could agree. Yesterday she'd spent quite a bit of time at the firing range, blowing off steam. Staring into the glass of amber liquid, tilting it side to side to watch it briefly coat the glass, she nodded lightly. "You know if you need a second team to take care of things, I'll do it. I'd like to say that Ze might be able to handle something, but he's still too green to be put on lead for anything big. Francia gets a little too paranoid when too much comes too fast for her." It was a good thing that Franica had so many redeeming qualities.
Phoenix Saga: Now Dominique just happen to be in the neighborhood and was remembering the dessert she had the other night was rather good. The hostess was also polite and courteous so it made a good impression on her. So tonight she would visit the diner again. A polite smile was given to the hostess upon her entry and in a few moments. She would direct herself to the same window seat she took the previous night. Her clothing choice was different tonight then the buisness attire of before. Simple dark blue shirt with the words "Embrace the Cold" written in ice blue color. Matching with darker blue pants and a simple black jacket. A more casual attire for her this night. -fin-
Xavier Darnai: Nodding, he picked up his glass again and took a long swig of it. "I'm going to need to open the casket on a few things, get into the field and handle a few've these issues just for the sake've expediency. I'll look over the action plan've the next few tasks, see which I can hand off to you and let you run with it. You're more'n capable of handling lead on something like that." Being spread thin was an understatement.
Strange Hex: Another nod given, she took a drink from the glass before setting it down on the table amongst the mess of dishes from Trinity's meal. Girl ate like she hadn't had a thing to eat in a year. It was a wonder she wasn't fat. "Just let me know." Dark eyes rose from the glass to see the woman from the other night return to her table previously occupied. No outward expression, just taking note of her presence for the time being.
Phoenix Saga: She would order the same dessert from before. A delicious strawberry vanilla sundae those this time top with some gummy bears and Oreo chips mixed in, plus she made it a triple as well. She had a sweet tooth or just a penchant for frozen treats, who could say really. She seldom went to dinners and order anything, so it was a bit unusual for her but not completely out of character. A large glass of water would go with the dessert but no alcohol would be ordered. -fin-
Xavier Darnai: "Pushing off holiday'd been rough enough, stumbling over the gallery invite like a twat just made the situation worse." Not one to share personal details, it was a rather unusual detail to share, and perhaps more insight than he'd given anyone about his actual home life in a great deal of time. "Now that I've got this negotiation to process in Crimea, I've got to push holiday even further. There's a good chance this'll all go pear shaped in the next few days. I'll be going dark once I land, so you'll have to be prepared to deal with anything that may come out've Sudan."
Strange Hex: Glass tilted again, rocking on its edge on the table, at just her fingertips, she was audibly focused on what Xavier had to say. "Just make holiday that much better when it does come." Or so it should be. She couldn't help but quirk a grin and look at him from the corner of her eye. "I'll be prapred for anything they can throw, shoot or otherwise send at us. I always am."
Phoenix Saga: In the time she waited for her order, her gaze did shift around to those other patrons within the diner. She was glad the place smelled good and was not overly noisy or located in a rather obnoxious part of town. A peaceful night was always welcome and her eyes shifted over the various things and people inside the diner until her dessert came. That immediately took her sole attention at that point. -fin-
Xavier Darnai: "Going to take a bloody miracle, love." Making this better with a fancy trip was going to be a hard sell. There were few places in the world right now he could go and still actually decompress. Taking the glass in his left again, his jaw set for a moment as he tapped a few fingers against the edge of the glass. It tapped a little too hard, it seemed, and a hairline crack in the glass formed as he closed his eyes. Lifting it quickly, he drained off the rest of the Scotch before setting it down again with a hard crick, causing the fracture to spread. "Ze get you the information on the shopping list, by chance."
Strange Hex: Pushing herself to sit up right, grin still in place. "Much like fate, we make our own miracles. We just might have to do a bit of reorganizing first." It wasn't the first time, it likely wouldn't be the last. They needed to get Sudan taken care of first, though. It was less than a day away. Picking up her coat, she stood and shook her head. "Not yet. He's got it. I'll forward it to you. I'm on my way to see him right now. He said he thinks you'll be happy with the list he's put together." Pulling out a clip of bills, she left more than enough to take care of Trinity's meal and Xavier's bottle, being that he'd paid the last couple times. "Don't let it get to you. I'd rather not have to worry about your stress levels come tomorrow night."
Xavier Darnai: Watching her go, he gave a nod, shaking his head just once. "Never been one to let that sort've issue get in the way in the field. It'll be fine." Relaxing in the chair for a moment, he stared at the broken glass, stacking it carefully with Hex' before reaching up and loosening the tie around his neck. More than familiar with operating under pressure, it wasn't the weight of his tasks nearly as much as being unsure of what he was going to do when the immediate tasks were cleared.
TaintedAgony: -=Something had come up earlier, but she'd dealt with it, as best she could given the situation. But since she had the time, she dropped by the diner. Stepping in, she headed straight for the counter and took a seat.=- -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Oi." Watching as Ghost went in on a warpath to head for the back bar, he gave a quick up-nod to her as she rounded the corner and took a seat. Out at the table in the common dining area with a bottle, he flagged down the passing waitress. "Two clean glasses, love, managed to crack one've'em." Looking briefly over at the hostess station, he could see Natasha eyeing Xavier intently, so he just turned his head to his table again and rubbed at the bridge of his nose, murmuring something about gluttony.
TaintedAgony: -=Since he was who she came to speak with, she stood and headed over to his table. She didn't bother to ask if he minded that she join him, just took a seat across from him.=- -d-
Xavier Darnai: Dressed down a bit at this point, his jacket off and shoulder harness out in the open, Xavier looked to be at a point of burnt out that most people hadn't seen since he had an actual office last. Hangovers in the Queen's Rook were commonplace then. Nodding his thanks as two fresh glasses were set down, he picked up the bottle and poured an equal measure into both glasses. Setting the bottle down again, bandaged fingers pulled away from it to wrap around the rim of his glass, lifting it quickly. "Do poslednego vystrela."
TaintedAgony: -=She lifted the other glass, holding it up a moment before quickly downing the contents. Returning the glass to the table, she pulled a small baggie from her pocket and set it on the table. The baggie contained the shell he'd asked about.=- -d-
Xavier Darnai: Tilting his glass back, he took a long pull of the Scotch before looking down to the bag she'd set on the table. Lifting one brow, he picked up the bag and turned it around in his hands until he had the casing between his fingers. Glancing from it to her, he set the casing down. "They're not originals."
TaintedAgony: All I know, is they're .308's, and there are no prints on any of the casings. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Whomever's manufacturing these is going about it of their own accord, and doesn't have access to the materials. That'll mean that they don't last as long. If they're pulling metal out've the ones that're already on the streets this's going to solve two problems very quickly." Tapping at the casing once, he smirked a bit, pulling in another sip of the Scotch before setting his glass down. "The few that're out there're already decaying, and they've got a shelf life at this point've about six're seven months. If they're not used in that time they'll be effectively inert. If someone's attempting to pull the slugs and reshape them, that half life's got to ramp itself up right bloody quick. Whomever's making these three oh eights's only going to be able to keep themselves stocked with'em for a few more weeks. Maybe month'n a half top line. They obviously don't have the manufacturing facility to do a proper job've'em from the look've the casings."
TaintedAgony: I suppose it's good to know that whoever it is will only be able to continue shooting people around the Lounge for another few more weeks. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Would you prefer to hear they're legitimate and now the lot've you have a much more serious epidemic than I tried to warn you all about a few months back." Offering a deadpan stare, he picked up the casing again. "Jacobs's a perfectionist, there's no bloody doubt. Not a thing he does with the manufacturing that isn't precision, but also intentional. These're red like the originals, but the composition's wrong. You can tell if you look into the casing. It's marred with black." He tossed it down onto the table again so she could look if she liked. "The originals fire clean. Whatever metal they're cased in's meant to kick off the whole've the round's effect, not leave residue behind after this long."
TaintedAgony: -=She didn't bother to look at it again. She didn't know what the real ones looked like, so she had nothing to compare this one to. She'd take his word for it.=- What are you going to do with it now? -d-
Xavier Darnai: "I've a few people that can run down recent attacks'n correlate data, look for patterns." Taking up his glass again, he gave it a slow stir before bringing it up for another sip. Pausing first, he looked at the space in front of him. "Someone firing a three oh eight in this city's limits's either an idiot, or being paid. One way or another there'll be a way to track them."
TaintedAgony: -=She shrugged.=- It isn't like the cops are going to come around the Lounge. Never have. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Not really the type to take an interest in handling things through official channels, love. That typically requires being available for questions'n answers and you've seen how I am with volunteering information." His eyes closed for a moment as he lift both brows, taking another long pull to empty his tumbler.
TaintedAgony: What I'm saying is that whoever is doing this doesn't have to worry about the shot being heard, because no one is going to do anything about it. -d-
Xavier Darnai: "Not doing anything about it and not having noticed it're two very different things." Hex had been kind enough to cover the tab for his bottle, though he did add a bit more on to the tip. It wasn't that Alexandra was a light tipper, but he wanted to cover future services as well, especially considering the eye the blonde at the hostess station was giving the two of them. "I've a plane to catch in just an hour or two." Picking up the casing, he slid it into a pocket of his jacket before gathering up his cigarettes and lighter. Pulling his suit jacket up off of the chair, he gave Ghost a nod. "I'll be dark for a bit. I'll make sure that whomever ends up with the task knows that you're at the center of the inquiry. Feel free to finish the bottle if you'd like, it's covered to it's burial."
TaintedAgony: I'll just take it with me. Have a good flight. -=She stood, and headed out, taking the bottle with her.=- -d-
Xavier Darnai: Watching Ghost go, he nodded and rubbed at the bridge of his nose again as he heard Natasha mutter something in his general direction that was not clean. "Yes, I'm aware, you're not bloody happy with me at the moment. Seems to be plenty've that going about." Walking out, he gave only the briefest attention to her scouring look before he headed down the street and rounded the corner. He had a few errands to handle before meeting Hex, Collins, Kat, and Ze at City Proper Airport for the flight to Sudan.
